Messlingen är ett mycket snösäkert område och det finns många aktiviteter med snö som grund. Den första snön lägger sig redan i oktober och sedan får vi ytterligare 5 meter innan sommaren tar vid i maj.

Här blir skidåkningen ett naturligt inslag, Messlingen är ett längdåkningsparadis och till skillnad från många andra spårsystem får du gärna ta med dig hunden i spåret. Här finns 45 mil pistade leder för skoter och Messlingen är sammankopplad med övriga byar i Funäsfjällen. Är det utöför man vill åka finns Kappruet bara några kilometer bort och är även ett utmärkt ställe att starta sin fjälltur på. Ta liften upp de första 164 höjdmetrarna och ta sedan en tur runt Kapprutoppen för att sedan glida tillbaks mot Messlingen över sjön.

När marken återses efter ett halvårs snötäcke fylls Messlingen åter av friluftshungrande besökare. Med närhet till både fjäll och vatten finns här massor av aktiviteter för alla åldrar. Lär dig flugfiske eller gå på en tur och undersök fjällfloran.

Sommaren i fjällen är verkligen helt fantastisk. De ljusa svala sommarnätterna när solen knappt verkar gå ner alls.  Badstranden hägrar när det är riktigt varmt och man bara vill svalka sig. Svalare dagar kan man ta på sig vandrarkängorna och ta en eller flerdagarstur på fjället och bara njuta av friheten och lugnet som råder. Fiskeentusiaster vallfärdar till området med dess bäckar och tjärnar där man kan få flera olika ädelfiskar på kroken.
